Ebrahimi Oriental Rugs is a family business that expands several generations.
Asghar Ebrahimi, the current owner, started in the business at a very young age and was the youngest of six brothers. His father, Hajji Ali Ebrahimi-Rahvar started in the business of rug dealing in the city of Tabriz, Iran. Tabriz is a very old and historical city with some of the finest and beautiful rugs produced from the area. Before the family was in the business of dealing rugs, Asghar’s grandfather was a wool dyer and his great-grandfather was a carpet-weaver.

At the young age of 12 years old he began by restoring and repairing rugs. He then moved to the United Sates to continue the family business. He incorporated Ebrahimi Oriental Rugs in the year 1986. Asghar Ebrahimi’s 45 plus years in the business has given him a keen eye on acquiring some of the finest antique rugs over the years. Over the years the business was mostly a dealer to dealer operation. However, Ebrahimi Oriental Rugs has decided to open the business to the public as well.

We specialize in fine antique Persian and Oriental Rugs of all shapes and sizes. Other services include wash and repair of rugs. We have been in the business for more than 20 years serving the New York City area and abroad. We are conveniently located on 31st street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue on the second floor - Suite 203. We are open Monday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
